LOCATION
Bambito is located in the Highland or Mountains of Panama in the province o Chiriquí. The first U.S. settlers that arrived in the early 1900’s in Bambito named it “ La Nueva California” ( The New California) – this because they found that the climate, the beautiful land and the crops that grew in these mountainous prairies like strawberries, flowers of every color, and the green forestry hills were very similar to their beloved State of California.

- These first settlers bough large plots of land and applied their technology expertise for forestry and
agriculture which tuned this already rich and fertile land into prime agricultural development.
- In 1911 Bambito experienced “La Fiebre de la madera”, (Forestry for Wood Boom), All of the wood
used to build the Pacific-Atlantic railroad of Panama came from Bambito. All o the wood that was used to build Military facilities by the U.S., such as Gorgas Hospital, also came from Bambito.
