VALLE DE ANTÓN

Known as the place of eternal spring, this picturesque town is located in the crater of an existing volcano many millions of years ago. Its eternal spring, cool climate, makes it an excellent summer place. Famous for its arts & crafts market, it is a mandatory place to visit for tourists, at the market the visitor can purchase gifts, besides beautiful native plants of the place, such as orchids, bougainvilleas, fruits and fresh legumes.
It is also possible to visit La Piedra Pintada, huge petrography with images and symbols hard to understand. It is said to be the map of the region.
Some symbols which are repeated in the ceramics in the Isthmus coincide with some images of the great stone. An experience offered lately is the Canopy Tour to the Macho Chorro. It is a promenade held by cables sliding to the cups of the trees, achieving an excellent panoramic view of the great forest. You can also stroll through the town walking or riding a horse.

CHIRIQUÍ
The Province of Chiriquí is located at the extreme south occidental of the Republic of Panama and has a surface area of 8,653.23 kms. Its geographical coordinates approx. places it between the 8°00'00" y 8°55'13" latitude north and between the 81°26'27" and 83°3'7" of occidental longitude.
Chiriqui limits to the north with the Province of Bocas del Toro, south with the Pacific Ocean and east with the Province of Veraguas and west with the Republic of Costa Rica.
The natural landscape of the Province of Chiriquí presents relative and diverse contrasts, embracing from coastal plains to mountain sites with altitudes above the 3,000 mts.

The Chiriqui high lands are of volcanic origin and occupy a great part of the territory along the Central mountain range. They reach its maximum altitudes in the north occidental area, where the highest points of the province and the country are located: Volcan Barú (3,475 mts), Cerro Picacho (2,874 mts), Cerro Santiago (2,826 mts), Cerro Pando (2,468 mts).
The climates are: rainy tropical and cool in height. The tropical rainy climates are abundant in almost all the province and is characterized by heavy rains, registered during some months and a dry season of approx. three months. The temperatures vary between 26° and 30° C.
The cool high climates are very proper of the most highest areas of the Province (Volcan, Cerro Punta and Boquete). In these zones, the precipitation is abundant and it rains about 9 months or more. In these zones the temperatures vary between 13° and 25°C.
